At Gilcrest Center, we stand at the intersection of care and community, dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults through our comprehensive Adult Daycare Center and Transportation Services.
Our Mission
Our mission is to holistically cater to the social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and creative needs of every member and participant in our programs. We aim to create an environment that promotes personal growth, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging.
Our Story
In December of 2007, John and Annette Saeger, together with their family, founded and operated the Gilcrest Adult Day Care Center & Transportation. Despite facing numerous challenges, the Saegers have demonstrated unwavering commitment to building and supporting the center, making it a true journey of dedication and perseverance. In particular, the year 2008 proved to be an especially challenging time due to the banking crisis and the subsequent Recession, which had a significant impact on the center and the seniors it served. However, through determination and resilience, the Saegers learned valuable lessons that allowed them to grow and move forward.
More recently, in 2020, the Gilcrest Center faced yet another significant challenge with the emergence of Covid-19. The pandemic posed unprecedented difficulties for the senior population and the day care center, resulting in a seven-month closure mandated by the government. However, despite this hardship, the Saegers found valuable lessons to be learned from the experience, which helped to strengthen the company’s resolve and better serve the senior community. Through faith and hard work, the Gilcrest Center continues to operate and grow, and looks forward to many more years of serving its community and the ever-growing senior population.

While we acknowledge the critical role of nursing homes in providing long-term care, we firmly believe in an individual’s right to choose. At Gilcrest Center, we are committed to ensuring that no one should have to opt for institutionalization due to a lack of home and community-based long-term care service options.
